If you want to give your skin a boost and get the most out of your daily skin care products, consider using a facial mask once to twice a week. Masks can help exfoliate dead skin cells, draw out impurities, unclog pores, tighten your skin and provide additional moisture, allowing your daily products to work more effectively. The best part is that unlike other skin care products that may be challenging to make at home, you can use everyday items in your kitchen to make a customized mask!
During the cold winter months, skin can become dry and itchy. Creams and lotions can’t penetrate your skin to provide moisture if dead skin cells are acting as a barrier. Here is a super easy DIY moisturizing exfoliant facial mask that will exfoliate your skin and add moisture, leaving your skin soft and supple!
Ingredients and purpose:
- ¼ of an avocado (mashed with fork) – super moisturizing
- 1 slice of lemon (squeezed juice) – exfoliates and moisturizes
- ½ tablespoon of olive oil – cleans and nourishes skin
- 1 tablespoon of honey – kills germs and is anti-inflammatory
- Use fork or spoon to mix ingredients in a bowl. So simple!
- Before you apply, take a warm wet towel and hold over your washed face for 2-3 minutes. This will open up your pores.
- Use your fingers or a synthetic foundation brush to apply. The mask may drip, so be sure to have a shirt that you can wash.
- Relax for 10-15 minutes. Wash well with warm water. Apply moisturizer.
Notice how supple and soft your skin is?
Until next time, stay pretty inside and out!
sounds more like something id want to eat for a snack but i will try it
Look out for the upcoming beauty DIYs… you’re seriously going to want to eat them as a sweet and yummy snack!~
Would the mask be “ok” if I use pure grape seed oil instead of the olive oil ? Thanks !
yes of course grapeseed oil would work!
I agree! Grape seed oil is alternative. It’s a great antioxidant, prevents premature aging, and has high potency of vitamin E which helps fight against acne and stretch marks!!!~ 😉
Im going to give it try!
I have dry skin too and this mask really helps. Hope you like it!~
This reccipe for a nurishing mask seems great to try. I was wondering though, if the ingredient list differs from the pictured amounts of olive oil. Should it be 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, or 1 teaspoon of olive oil?
This Mask Seems Delicious & Nurishing .. I’m definitely trying this today with my own little twist( MANGO) .. Will definitely share this on my blog and facebook 🙂 if I don’t end up eating the product.
EXCELLENT POST 🙂
I made this mask as a Christmas gift for some of my family and friends and am wondering how long it will keep? I don’t want the avocadoes to make the mask turn brown…should I store it in the fridge or freezer?
Microdermabrasion is actually a fast and painless process.
Patients usually report a light tingling sensation on the surface from the skin during therapy, but
no discomfort or significant discomfort. Despite the fact
that these with specifically sensitive skin might really feel a slight prickling,
it is generally regarded as among one of the most comfortable skin treatments available.
